John Storer
John Storer holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Economics, and has worked as project
manager on large Public Private Partnerships (PPP’s) for construction companies
on notable projects including the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Eastern Distributor,
and most recently the Western Sydney Orbital. He has also conducted economic
impact assessments on such projects to satisfy the requirements of NSW Treasury
on the viability and value of the projects to the NSW community.
Kate Roberts
Kate Roberts is the founding and current Chairperson
of the Gambling Impact Society. She is a senior social worker and
consultant adult educator, and has extensive experience in clinical
social work, casework, counselling, group work, community
development, project management, health promotion, research and
professional education.
For the past 9 years she has been involved in
working with gambling issues as a community development worker,
educator, problem gambling counsellor and community advocate.
Dr John Haw
Dr John Haw is a Lecturer in the School
of Psychology at UWS. His major research interests are the psychology of
gambling. He has conducted funded research in this area and has
consulted with the gaming industry and government on gambling
issues.
He lectures in the area of psychological research
methods.
Rowan Cameron
Mr Rowan Cameron was a driving force in helping the
AHA establish GameCare and now works to manage and improve this
program. An experienced and well-qualified counsellor, Rowan
holds a Degree in Counselling
and Diplomas in Psychotherapy and Relationship Counselling.
Rowan’s experience as a counsellor includes positions with
Relationships Australia, the Probation and Parole Service and the
Jansen Newman Institute.
He lectures in the area of psychological research
methods.
Echo Morgan
Echo Morgan is responsible for the overall
coordination of the Multicultural Problem Gambling Service,
including the planning and implementation of gambling prevention
initiatives targeting communities from culturally and linguistically
diverse backgrounds; liaison with ethnic community organisations and
problem gambling service providers; organisation of community
awareness programs and service provider training, staff supervision,
budget management and project and financial reporting.
Rev Stephen Frederick
Rev Stephen Frederick works as a Anglican pastor in the Fairfield and Bossley Park
areas. The local Churches he works with are both ethnically and generationally
diverse. As a result of his involvement with greater Fairfield's community, he
has been invited into the lives of both those struggling with gambling
themselves, and their families.
Father Chris
Riley
Father Chris Riley, founder and CEO of Youth Off The Streets, has worked with
marginalised youth for more than 30 years in a variety of roles including teacher, youth
worker, probation officer, residential carer and principal.
Father Riley believes there is no such thing as a “child born bad”, but
acknowledges that there are bad environments and circumstances
that impact negatively on our young. He knows the effect problem gambling can have on families.
